Since we started in timber frame 25 years ago, we have seen many changes in the construction industry, but never more so than in the last few years. New developments aim to address environmental issues such as carbon dioxide emissions and water use. High energy ratings can be achieved by incorporating measures to increase efficiency, for example solar panels, ground and air source heat pumps or rainwater harvesting systems, to name a few.

So you have decided on a building method and have a rough idea of what your new home should be like. But where do you go from here? At Ffosaron, we offer a full design and planning service which means a rough idea is all you have to bring to the table and we will do the rest. Our architectural designers will put your needs on paper and will “tweak” things to suit you whilst making sure that it complies with regulations. We will submit your plans to the local planning authority for you and deal with any queries they might have.

Since we started in timber frame 25 years ago, we have seen many changes in the construction industry, but never more so than in the last couple of years when new planning and building regulations were introduced by the government, called The Code for Sustainable Homes.
The main changes address environmental issues such as carbon dioxide emissions and water use. Every dwelling built under the new regulations in Wales will have to reach Level 3 (other levels applicable to other areas) by incorporating measures to increase efficiency, some measures are mandatory and some are down to individual choice. Those measures could be solar panels, ground source heat pump or rainwater harvesting, to name a few.
We can advise you on the right products for your home, and we work closely with architectural designers who are fully trained in these new regulations to assure compliance and will be able to assist with any queries you might have.
Sourcing products and suppliers – We have worked with local suppliers for many years, knowing them and knowing their products means that we can help you find the right ones, whether it is bathroom tiles, a feature window or solar panels you are looking for.
Tradesmen – Ordering a kitchen is one thing, finding a quality fitter is another. At Ffosaron, we have worked with experienced tradesmen for years, and have confidence in the quality of their work. Our electricians and plumbers will issue certificates for the completed installations.
